Description
To replicate, I've created a totally fresh and empty install of Django 1.3 (Ubuntu Linux 11.04).
I have *no* views or models declared, and literally just did a "startproject" and then a "python ./manage.py runserver". Visiting http://localhost:8000/ via a regular browser window works just fine. Visiting from a Chrome Incognito Window causes an extremely long delay before the "It worked!" page is returned.

I could reproduce this (Mac OS X, latest Chrome, whatever that is right now).
I waited for 60 seconds, so it looks suspiciously similar to #16099.
However, I just noticed the Chrome guys have marked the bug as wontfix on their end.
So I'm going to reopen the original report and close this one as duplicate.
