Description

The locale directories for Latin Serbian should be renamed from sr_Latn to sr_latin.
This move has been done in GNOME for some time now. See also:

Triage Stage: UnreviewedDesign decision needed

Your proposition would be backwards incompatible for every project who has a sr_Latn translation. Unless it has clear advantages--and you did not mention any, I'm -1 on this change and quite tempted to close the ticket as wontfix.

The decision to use the name sr_Latn was made after some discussions on the django-i18n list: see http://code.djangoproject.com/ticket/10663#comment:6 Changing the original decision requires at least a new discussion on that list and addressing the backwards incompatibility issue. For now, I will mark the ticket as DDN. If you start a discussion on the list, could you update the ticket with the outcome?

Doing some more research, I found some references for Latn also:

http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5646

I'm closing it myself as won't fix. Sorry for the noise.
